Article Marketing
Whether you're an established author, or can't write a word, article marketing is one sure way to be defined as an expert authority in your chosen niche. It's virtually one free way that you can send your marketing message out to many virally, and worthwhile if you want to brand your name and your business.
This article will look at the ways you can start using article marketing as one of the success strategies in your business.
Most people aim their articles at a particular niche. If you can't decide on a niche, then the natural thing to do is to write about what you know. Don't think you don't know enough about anything to write about, because that just isn't the case.
An article need only be around 400-500 words long, and usually targeted to specific keywords. Once you've chosen a topic to write about, sit down and spend half an hour writing all you know about that topic.
Next, go back over what you've written, and you might be surprised to find that you've written enough for 2 or more articles. If you find that the one article is too long, consider breaking it up into part 1 and 2.
Every article should hold information of value to the reader, otherwise they'll just scan it and move on… The aim is to give the reader something they can take away with them, and act on afterwards.
If you don't like writing, you can use private label rights (PLR) articles. These are written by 'ghost writers' who don't divulge their name or any other details. With PLR articles, you can change the article to suit your own tone of voice, and add your own name as the author.
It's important to include a compelling headline to any article to entice people to read the article. It also attracts publisher's attention when they browsing through article directories looking for content to add to their newsletter or web site/blog.
Choose headlines that start with powerful words like, "How To…", "Discover # Ways…", "Why You Aren't…", "6 Ways To Increase…" etc.
Include keywords in your headline and article body. This makes categorizing your article easier, and finding your article a quick process.
Once you've written an article and are satisfied that it imparts good information, make sure to include a resource box at the bottom. This is the main reason for writing the article, to get the reader to click through to your web site.
You can include an 'About the Author' blurb to brand yourself, or a short advertisement for more similar content in the resource box. You can also consider adding a free enticement to prompt the reader to click through to your site, like a free download. Then include the web site URL in full. (Some people publish in plain text, so the full URL is always best).
If you write ebooks, then it can be worthwhile to adapt and condense a chapter into a sample article to make more sales. You simply upload the article to article directories, and include the link for the rest of the book in your resource box.
